If any normal functionality is not working properly (such as recordings not playable, video displays loading spinner, etc), you may need to turn off, restart or power reset your set-box.
Turn off your set-top box
- Press the STB button at the top right of the Tbaytel remote to power off the set-top box.
- Wait ten seconds.
- Press the STB button again to power the set-top box back on.
If the situation does not change after restarting your set-top box, try restarting your set-top box.
Restart your set-top box
- Click on the Home button to get back to the main screen
- Scroll to the left and select Settings
- Scroll down and select System
- Scroll down and select Device Preferences
- Scroll down and select Restart
- Scroll up and select Restart again.
The restart typically takes less than 1 minute to complete and should return you to the home screen.
On the rare occasion the set top box is not responding to the remote control and the battery low light is not indicating batteries are the cause - you can unplug the set top box from power. This is a little harder on the system so not recommended for regular use.
Power reset your set-top box
- Press the STB button at the top right of the Tbaytel remote to power off.
- Unplug the Power Supply of the set-top box either from the back of the set-top box or from the electrical outlet.
- Wait ten seconds
- Plug the power supply back in
- If the set-top box does not automatically power on after plugging in, press the STB button again to power on.
Technical Support Tip: Like most devices that have an operating system (computers, cellphones and streaming boxes), they will intermittently need a reboot. This allows devices to finish applying updates that require restarts, restart system processes and check the network connectivity.
