On iPhones you can enable WiFi Calling, allowing you to make and receive calls over a WiFi network instead of the cellular network. This is useful in areas where you have active WiFi but may not have cellular reception.

To activate WiFi Calling on your iPhone you will need to have an iPhone 6S or newer and iOS 15 or newer. The phone must be connected to the Tbaytel Mobility Network on LTE. Once it is activated you can use almost any WiFi connection to make and receive calls.

  1. Go into Settings
  2. Tap on Cellular
  3. Tap on WiFi Calling
  4. Turn the WiFi Calling on This iPhone toggle switch to on and green and tap Enable
  5. You will have to enter a valid Canada Post mailing address as the Emergency Address. The emergency address is where the police, fire and ambulance will dispatch to if you call 911 while on WiFi Calling. It is important to keep the emergency address up-to-date.
  6. Once activated you will see WiFi Tbaytel at the top of your screen
  7. You can now place and receive calls on a WiFi connection. For WiFi Calling to work properly your WiFi connection must be a minimum of 512Kbps for uploading and downloading.

If you are unable to activate WiFi Calling on your iPhone, call Tbaytel Technical Support at (807)623-4400 for assistance.
