VoLTE is the next evolution in Wireless calling. VoLTE allows users with a compatible device to place and receive calls over the Tbaytel and Rogers LTE network instead of using the traditional 3G HSPA voice network. Before VoLTE, only data was transmitted over the LTE network, and voice calls were carried over the HSPA network.
With VoLTE, you will experience faster call setup times and clear, natural-sounding audio when both you and the person you are calling are using VoLTE-compatible devices. If a VoLTE customer were to call an HSPA customer they would not notice the improvements in audio quality.
All Tbaytel Postpaid customers with a LTE SIM card, a VoLTE-compatible device, and updated device software, can take advantage of this enhancement automatically as long as they are connected to a LTE network.
