What Does This Mean for Tbaytel Prepaid Customers?

How will the AT&T and T-Mobile 3G shutdown affect me as a Prepaid Mobility customer?

It has also been determined at this time that Prepaid Voice, Data, and SMS will NOT be supported on our U.S. partners’ 4G LTE networks. This means that a Tbaytel prepaid customer will be unable to roam or access voice, text or data services on a U.S. partner’s 4G LTE network regardless of their device type.

Note: The shutdown will have no impact to any Voice, SMS, or Data (Postpaid or Prepaid) services in Canada.

Tbaytel Prepaid customers who travel to the U.S. still have the option to connect to WiFi where it’s available and use their Apps like Facetime, Messenger or WhatsApp etc. to make calls and access other device app functionality over WiFi.

As an alternative, customers could consider while in the U.S. purchasing a Prepaid LTE SIM from a U.S. carrier to use specifically while they are traveling.
