The role of nomenclature is to give all media a common vocabulary that assists in increasing the clarity of communication regarding Tbaytel and the Tbaytel brand. Tbaytel has established these nomenclature principles:
The operating name, Tbaytel, will be used rather than the legal name, Thunder Bay Telephone. The legal name will be required only in specific legal situations.
The operating name, Tbaytel, will always appear with an uppercase “T” and lowercase “baytel” as a single word with no spaces or punctuation as a proper noun.

Tbaytel’s wordmark, a subset of the term logotype, is a standardized graphic representation of the name of the company for purposes of identification and branding. The representation of the word “Tbaytel” becomes a visual symbol of the organization and brand.
