Before calling TBayTel Internet Tech Support, try these solutions to your connection problem:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Check all cables and cords to ensure they are securely in place.
  3. For Dial-up users, check that you are dialing the correct number for TBayTel Internet (624-3000). Refer to TBayTel Regional Internet Helpdesk 1-800-478-0879 for roaming numbers in the 807 area.
  4. For DSL users, try restarting the modem by turning the modem off (either by unplugging it or by depressing the power button at the back of the modem). Wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  5. Visit various websites to determine if the problem is specific to one website.
  6. If using Microsoft Windows be sure to complete all necessary Windows Updates.
  7. Update your anti-virus program and run a system scan.
  8. Make note of any software, firewalls or routers you have recently installed on your computer and consider disconnecting each one to identify the possible source of the problem.
  9. If you are using a self install kit, ensure filters are installed on all phones.
