3G Decommission - Mobility - Thunder Bay - Sept 8
Please be advised that as of September 8 Tbaytel will be decommissioning 3G service at the following locations:
- Amber Dr.
- Fortune St.
- Court St.
- CLE Grounds
- Balmoral Dr. & William St.
This will impact those using older mobile devices in those areas. Devices that do not support VoLTE (Voice over LTE) calling may experience a loss of coverage or a total disruption of service once the work is complete on September 8, 2026. To ensure you stay connected, please take the following steps if you have an older device:
- Enable VoLTE: If your device is compatible, please ensure VoLTE is turned on in your cellular settings.
- Check Compatibility: If you are unsure if your device supports VoLTE please visit the Tbaytel Store or any Authorized Tbaytel Dealer. Our team can help you review your options for a VoLTE compatible device.

Outage Alert - Mobility - Kashabowie - Sept 15-25
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing essential equipment upgrades on September 15 beginning 8:00am with completion expected by to September 25. During this upgrade customers in the Kashabowie area will experience outages of voice, text, and data services. Emergency services will be unavailable throughout this outage window.
Maintenance Alert - Mobility - HWY 17 - Sept 1-Oct 30
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Mobility network with work taking place between September 1 to October 31. During this maintenance some customers travelling along Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie may experience service degradation.
Maintenance Alert - Landline Phone - Kenora & Dryden - Sept 1-Oct 30
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Home Phone and Business Phone networks with work taking place on September 21 between the hours of 9:00am to 2:00pm in Kenora and September 24 between the hours of 1:00am to 5:00am for Dryden. During this maintenance some customers in Kenora and Dryden may experience service degradation or the inability to place or receive calls on their landline handsets with the downtime lasting no longer than 5 minutes.
Maintenance Alert - Mobility - International Friendship Gardens - Sept 22-25
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Mobility network with work taking place between September 22 to September 25. During this maintenance some customers near the area around the International Friendship Gardens may experience degradation in their mobility service, including calls, text messages, and data, during the maintenance window with no expected outage.
Maintenance Alert - Mobility - Shebandowan - Sept 25-Oct 5
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Mobility network with work taking place between September 25 to October 5. During this maintenance some customers travelling along Highway 11 near Shebandowan may experience degradation in their mobility service, including calls, text messages, and data, during the maintenance window.
Maintenance Alert - Mobility - Kenora - Ongoing
Please be advised, Tbaytel will be turning down the rooftop site on Laurenson Lane in Kenora due to scheduled building maintenance with work expected to take place between August 2026 through Spring 2027. During this maintenance some customers in Kenora may experience mild performance reduction in their Mobility services during peak hours.
Scam Alert - Ongoing
We are aware of several scams that continue to target our customers by phone and email. Fraudulent emails are being sent, either requesting payment for a non-existent account or claiming you must “update” your email inbox to avoid termination. Some homeowners are also being targeted by phone and asked to download an app.
Please be advised:
- Tbaytel will never call to ask you to download any apps before an installation or service appointment.
- Tbaytel will never ask you for payments on non-existent accounts or require you to “update” your inbox.
- To confirm your bill, use the official myTbaytel App, to verify your account number and total amount owed.
If you receive a suspicious email, do not click any links or provide personal details.
